- Responsible for driving growth through synthesis of functional and
reactive silicone chemistry into the industrial coatings, personal care,
electronics/plastics and medical/dental markets
- Familiarity with the applications procedures used in the target
industries and use of these tools to optimize the product offerings and
develop appropriate selling materials
- Understand the connection between the structure of the silicone
molecule and the impact variables have on end-use performance
- Understand various market channels and needs assessment of targeted
customer base to ensure Emerald is offering value-add silicone
solutions; develop marketing tools with competitive supplier comparisons
- Tactically create project plans for new product development to ensure
optimum performance vs customer perceived value and execution within
desired timeframes
- Develop strong relationships with key customer targets as well as
larger existing accounts and understand detailed application
uses/benefits of our products
- Sales team training and customer presentations when needed
- Customer problem solving, reviewing quality issues, etc.
- Use extensive existing industry connections to open the doors at
targeted prospects
- Position report to either Charlotte, NC or Greer, SC
Selected candidate must have/be:
- BS in Chemistry with at least 15 years of silicone experience required
(prefer M.S. or Ph.D.)
- At least 5 years of functional and reactive silicone experience
required
- Experience in market application/synthesis in at least one of our core
markets required: personal care, industrial coatings,
electronics/plastics
- Additional experience in paint/stains, graphic arts, adhesives,
medical/dental a plus
- Experience working with market development teams and intensive
customer interaction required
- Comfortable with customer interaction
- Ability to demonstrate track record of prioritizing multiple projects
and timely project execution
- Manufacturing scale-up, six sigma certification and cGMP experience a
plus
- Extensive industry contacts in our core markets a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to
communicate in a clear and concise manner
